Swagbucks, because Swagpennies doesn't sound cool Part 8

Yesterday, Swagbucks mostly worked the way I wanted it to.

Remember, originally I was wanting something like Bing Rewards, something that didn’t take much of my time and something I would probably do anyway. Unfortunately, the only things I would do anyway are searching and watching movie previews. But it isn’t like I would want to watch the same previews over and over again, and I don’t get to watch the particular movie previews I’m looking for. So if I want to watch a preview I usually end up going to YouTube or Moviefone anyway. And as for the searching I’ve only earned 289 SB so far, or about 12 SB per day.

I want to do a few things in the morning and get something even if I don’t do anything else for the rest of the day. Mostly, I “watch” videos when I’m not even in the room. Unfortunately, I can only watch two or three things at a time, and even then it doesn’t always work. The videos will just stop, and if I’m not really watching I have to go and start them again, and I have to “watch” something more than once if I missed a video after getting a message that something isn’t available in my area or whatever. But I figure out a few playlists that don’t have a lot of problems (the biggest one I use is 7 SB, a few are 4 SB, and several are 3 or 2SB, but I think most of them are just 1 SB). So yesterday I got up and played a 7 SB list on Firefox, played a 4 SB list on Chrome (I have to actually leave that window open on the screen for some reason) and the phone app thing which is supposed to give 36 SB but rarely works that well for me, and voted on the daily poll for 1 SB and skipped through some ads for 2 SB. And then I turned down the sound and I went back to bed.

The phone app mostly worked and I got 34 SB. And both the playlists worked without stopping, so another 11 SB, and the other 3 SB adds up to 48 SB. So that’s what I want, to get paid nearly fifty cents for something that takes five minutes of my time, and I then I’ll decide if I want to bother with anything else.

It says you can get 500 SB per day watching videos, but I have trouble getting 100 SB from videos (or mostly videos with the other two things I just mentioned and occasionally getting something for searching). It takes all day. You don’t have to sit at the computer all day, but you do have to keep checking to make sure the videos are still running and to choose a new playlist after you get credit for the last one.

Now, if I were sitting in front of the computer all day anyway and I didn’t need the sound for anything and I didn’t want or need to watch other videos, this would be great. I still can’t imagine 500 SB a day, but maybe 100 SB each day would be easier.

I mostly “watch” playlists now. There is something else called nCrave that has you watch fewer videos than playlists, but it is kind of more work and I really don’t understand it. You can’t just click on it and leave, you have to hit play and then there is a countdown (usually 30 seconds) and then after that you can like it or not, and then it will go to the next one, and then after you are done with those you’re asked if you want to see more and then you’re credited 1 or 2 or 3 SB. If you’re doing it just for the SB credit fine, like it or don’t like it or whatever just to get to the next one. But during thirty seconds you can’t really watch much other than the commercial that’s usually in front of it, or are you just supposed to rate the commercial? Cause I don’t think so, or they need to tell me that. Also, if you actually get to something you want to watch, don’t hit like or don’t like or whatever, cause that stops the video and goes to the next one. Anyway, just trying to see if I could do that while mostly doing something else, half and hour later I earned 11 SB. But that was kind of annoying, so I’d rather not do a bunch of those at once. But then if you take a break from them sometimes it doesn’t work when you try to come back to it.

And I’ve mostly given up hope that the daily goal thing is going to go back down if my daily total is lower. It just seems to go up regardless. I did not reach my daily goal many times last week, but now it is up to 120 SB. I’d get 12 bonus points next month if I could do that much today, but I don’t want to sit here all day. An average of 50 SB per day would end up getting me about $180 per year for not doing much, so that would be just fine.

Not that I have any actual money in my hand yet. But probably soon. Maybe tomorrow.

If you want to try any of this stuff, here’s the link to yesterdays post. And remember to sign up for Swagbucks first (even if you do not give me referral credit) and sign up for the other stuff through Swagbucks links, just in case you decide later that you do want to do Swagbucks and you’ll have a bit extra SB for doing it that way.
